About OncoYoga

A gentle, personalised approach to movement during and after cancer treatment.

OncoYoga offers a calm, supportive space for people navigating cancer—whether you are undergoing treatment, recovering, or supporting someone close to you.

Sessions take place in a private home studio in Bearwood, Birmingham, providing a quiet and comfortable environment where you can focus on your wellbeing without pressure or distraction.

This is not a standard yoga class. Every session is tailored to you—your body, your treatment, and how you feel on the day.

Why OncoYoga exists.

Cancer treatment can place significant strain on the body and mind. Many people are advised to “keep moving”, but general exercise classes or online content are often not suitable, and can feel overwhelming or even unsafe.

OncoYoga was created to offer a different approach—one that is adaptable, gentle, and grounded in an understanding of the realities of treatment.

Energy levels can fluctuate. Side effects can change. What feels manageable one day may not the next. This approach recognises that, and responds accordingly.

What to expect from a session.

Sessions are one-to-one and fully personalised, ensuring everything is appropriate for your condition and comfort.

Depending on your needs, a session may include gentle, supported movement to maintain mobility and ease tension, breathing techniques to support relaxation, and restorative positions using props for comfort.

There is no fixed structure. Each session adapts in real time—whether you need movement, stillness, or simply space to rest. Sessions aim to promote overall physical and emotional well-being.

A tailored approach to every stage.

OncoYoga supports people at different points in their experience, including those undergoing chemotherapy or other treatments, those recovering after treatment, and those living with cancer longer term.

It also provides space for caregivers who may benefit from gentle, restorative movement.

Every session is shaped around your treatment cycle, physical condition, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring a safe and supportive experience.

A calm and supportive environment.

Sessions take place in a dedicated, fully equipped studio designed for comfort and ease.

The space is quiet, private and unhurried, with everything set up to support you. You are encouraged to move at your own pace, take breaks when needed, and feel fully in control of your experience.

How OncoYoga can help.

While every experience is different, many people find that regular sessions support a sense of calm, help ease tension in the body, improve sleep, and offer a way to gently reconnect with movement.

Above all, it provides time and space to focus on yourself in a way that feels manageable and supportive.

OncoYoga is a complementary practice designed to sit alongside your medical care—it does not replace it.

Personal, flexible and designed around you.

Sessions are offered on a one-to-one basis, with the option of small, supportive sessions involving close family or caregivers if appropriate.

Whether you are looking for ongoing support or simply a place to begin, OncoYoga offers a thoughtful, personalised approach to movement and wellbeing.
